The 80’s brights adding that pop of colour to our lives.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever. And that is exactly what we have attempted with our next shoot. Holding onto the mood of the Spring Summer 2021 season that has just gone by, this shoot has taken its inspiration from the best of 80’s fashion.
From shiny bright eye-shadow to ultra-minimal nude make-up and the wet hair look. Our idea with this shoot was to have a fresh take on 80’s make-up and fashion which is here to stay. Our looks for this shoot were aided by the funkiest retro props.
For our first look, we were inspired by the 80’s summer haze. We had a lot of fun with a serene and tranquil sky blue, eye shadow and mascara with ethereal white fluffy clouds painted on it. The only other pop of color was a tangerine lip adding confidence to bring this beauty look together.
The clothes serve as a perfect accompaniment which helps put the spotlight on the face. A dreamy, lilac crop top with matching utility belt and crisp, white paper bag shorts bring the retro vibe to the party.
The protagonists for this look are the vinyl records, reminding us of the croony melodies of the era gone by and the vintage cassette player, making us fall in love with evergreen disco once again!
On the other end of this spectrum was our second look for the shoot featuring minimal makeup paired with natural earthy textures proving that less is more. Muted memories in neutrals were what inspired us for this look.
Pearl-studded eyes with a bronze smoky eye, and a dewy make-up with lots of playful blush, and a simple lip gloss was finished with a wet hair look that Thierry Mugler himself would have loved.
The outfit here consisted of a beige slip worn with a camel-hued cardigan and a pair of paper bag shorts, held together with a tan leather belt.
Reminiscent of the Flower Power movement and the anti-war sentiment, this look was styled with a bouquet of baby’s breath flowers and the classic Yashica camera brings alive all the memories of yore.
Bold, bright, acid-hued make-up or a neutral-toned look, this trend will make sure you stand a style apart. Do let us know in the comments, what reminds you of fashion from the yesteryear’s and which looks you would love to bring back?
