Magazine feature check!

We have some big news! That’s right, we got featured! It has always been a dream for us to be featured in a magazine for our work. This dream has finally come true and it’s just the beginning. We are over the moon about this feature in POZA magazine.

The great Indian painter Raja Ravi Verma is known for painting Indian women with an Indian sensibility and at leisure. His paintings wash you over with calmness, serenity, and tranquility.

This very special shoot was our way of approaching the ongoing festivities with leisure and style. India as a country is bubbling with festivities all year round, heavily dotted with weddings and an overall pleasant climate. So, for a change, we wanted to approach the festivities with leisure. There is beauty and charm in just being, experiencing time passing by surrounded by loved ones. Fall in love with leisure.

Urmila and Gini were styled to be a part of a Raja Ravi Verma inspired painting, albeit a modern take. Gini, draped in a beautiful white kasavu saree, looked ethereal. The saree was draped in a contemporary style that brought so much freshness and originality to the otherwise plain white saree.

Especially with a bandeau white cotton corset. Her luscious curls framed her gorgeous face while the minimalistic festive makeup added the right amount of color with a rust-colored lipstick. The shimmery eye-shadow and the golden jewelry helped the golden zari stand out. It was essential that her make-up resonated the leisurely vibe of the shoot.

She wore big, beautiful chandbalis with golden kangans and a nath. The sweet-smelling mogra in her hair complimented the white saree as well as contrasted the red mehndi in her hands. Gini’s bare feet just made it all the more poetic, inviting the onlooker to come, sit with her and enjoy a late summer afternoon.

Urmila on the other hand, wore a luxurious blue silk kanjivaram saree with an olive green pallu. Her drape gave her an extremely relaxed, laid-back vibe. Her ombre hair was plaited with extensions and adorned in mogra, leaving a waft of that misty scent. She wore traditional pearls and gold jewelry, a maang tikka, a choker, and a long necklace with minimalist make-up.

The shot was specially designed and curated with some festival-favorite marigolds, metal pots, and traditional hand-block print Kalamkari drapes. The setting invites you to come join in the art of leisure admist the festive cheer all around.

Our fast-paced lives have made us forget that it is essential to slow down and smell the flowers. This photoshoot is an attempt to remind everyone to love their leisure time. So, do tell us in the comments what is your idea of spending some meaningful time with your loved ones?
