Fashion with a Cause: A Styled Shoot for A Hundred Hands, a Non-Profit Trust"
In the heart of Bangalore, a city known for its thriving fashion scene, a unique collaboration had unfolded between Pearl Academy and a remarkable non-profit trust namely "A Hundred Hands." With a mission to empower artisans from across the country, A Hundred Hands has been making waves with their commitment to preserving and celebrating traditional craftsmanship.
This photoshoot showcases the beautiful synergy between education and altruism. The outfits featured in this series are a testament to the talent of local artisans, each piece meticulously crafted with love and skill. The visionary behind this project is Fibin V Raj, the Department Lead of Fashion Design at Pearl Academy, Bangalore. His impeccable styling highlights the rich heritage and contemporary appeal of these garments.
The artistic direction for this project was led by Sruti Kulothungan, the Department Lead for Fashion Communication at Pearl Academy, Bangalore. Her expertise in fashion communication brought an extra layer of depth and meaning to the shoot, making it not only visually stunning but also emotionally resonant.
Capturing every nuance and detail of this extraordinary collaboration were Maithillee Juankar and Pradusha, postgraduate Fashion Communication students. Their photography skills brought the essence of the collection to life, allowing viewers to appreciate the artistry behind each piece.
What makes this project even more special is my involvement being a former Faculty at Pearl Academy, Bangalore. I had the opportunity to be a part of this wholesome collaboration as one of the muses for the shoot. It's a testament to the interconnectedness of the fashion world, where teachers, students, and artisans come together to create something beautiful and meaningful.
These exquisite pieces were not only featured in this photoshoot but also made an appearance at the prestigious Bangalore Fashion Week. Furthermore, upon popular demand on Instagram to include blog that feature me, that had led to this inclusion on the blog, giving readers a closer look at the fusion of tradition and modernity.
In the spirit of shaking things up, this blog post marks a departure from the norm, celebrating collaboration, craftsmanship, and the charitable mission of A Hundred Hands. May this series inspire you as much as it has those who brought it to life—a stunning testament to fashion with a cause.
