Chambray or Denim or both?

What is the difference between chambray and denim? Well, this shoot is all about solving your fabric and styling dilemmas, to equip you not only to distinguish between chambray and denim, but to also demonstrate ways in which you can style these ever-so-timelessly without breaking your head about it! Also, this one’s for all my beloved guy friends out there who have been begging me to throw in some tips on styling men for a change.

Before we get into our look-book, let me help you understand the difference between the two fabrics. Chambray is a lightweight cotton fabric that combines coloured and white yarn. This is the perfect fabric for your spring and summer wardrobe. And possesses a resemblance very close to that of denim. Whereas denim on the other hand is a very heavyweight fabric made from 100% cotton and this cotton thread is used to make a particular weave forming diagonal ribs on the surface of the material. This is the perfect fabric for autumn and winter. Chambray would ideally be incorporated in shirts and dresses while denims would ideally be incorporated in jackets and jeans.

The first look we have today is a chambray button-down paired with a timeless V-neck black tee along with a pair of matching ripped denims and some trainers to run all your errands for the day!
